A little bit about me

Hi  I'm Sheila and I'm a cake artist based in the beautiful historic village of Sedgefield in County Durham.

I started making creative cakes back in 2008 after being fascinated by a cake scultpure I saw at a children's party.  A friend then challenged me to make one and needless to say I've been hooked ever since!

Having a background in art, design and multimedia, I find making cakes for family and friends not only a great way to combine these skills and stay creative, but also to make family occasions really special and memorable.  

In 2022, I officially registered as a part-time cake artist and I'm pleased to be able to offer, on occasion, bespoke cakes to the wider public (time permitting).  Please try to give as much notice as possible if considering a commission for the best possible results.

Commissions

Sweetiecake is currently not open to cake commissions. 

Prices are based on time to plan, design and produce as well as ingredients, materials and overheads (the bulk of the cost is usually time based - however more recently, costs for ingredients etc. have increased significantly).  

For celebration cakes, a non-refundable 30% deposit is required to secure your booking and a minimum order of £120 applies. 

Structured and carved cakes are priced on application (please bear in mind that these can take quite some time to plan and produce and this will be reflected in the cost).
